Principal Cloud (AWS) Engineer
The Principal Cloud Engineer is responsible for working closely with the Development Engineers, Architects and Operational teams on the build-out, testing and design of the company’s enterprise applications. This position requires strong knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies and the ability to quickly ramp on new technologies.

R ole and Responsibilities
Research, analysis, and creative thinking to address requirements and gaps within technical solutions.
Conduct proof-of-concepts to validate proposed solutions.
Implement and build solutions within the cloud either via manual processes or preferably via automation (e.g., scripting or Infrastructure-as-Code).
Work closely with the Architects on the design of new solutions.
Write and maintain documentation and procedures regarding the company's Cloud infrastructure.
Recommend and develop runbooks that define day-to-day support, maintenance, troubleshooting knowledgebase of the Cloud infrastructure.
Streamline repetitive processes through the use of custom scripts and automation tools.
Conduct training sessions to facilitate service transition of new solutions to operational support staff.
Provide tier 3 support of Cloud infrastructure.
Instinctively works to identify root cause for chronic and major incidents.
Attend training seminars, conferences, and trade shows to broaden knowledge of current and future technologies.
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent job-related experience
Requires at least 8+ years of related experience
Required working knowledge of AWS technologies:
Bash and Python scripting
Fundamental knowledge of AWS technologies:
VPC and associated networking concepts
Linux Red Hat/derivatives
Experience with complex infrastructure projects is required.
Exceptional understanding of data and how to leverage data for the representation of desired outcomes.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability and desire to be a problem solver in both leader and individual contributor roles
Experience leading teams through technical conversions
Strong analytical, problem solving and prioritization skills
Open to learn new things, even when experience is lacking
Requires solid communication and interpersonal skills; with the ability to work constructively in a collaborative team environment
Previous experience in a Software-as-a-Service company preferred
Previous experience in the healthcare industry preferred
Previous experience working with agile scrum preferred
Associate AWS certified Solutions Architect preferred
