Join the People's Team Summary: Provides comprehensive medical services to children from birth through adolescence, including guidance on mental and physical growth and development by performing the following duties. Educational Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Medical School, Completion of Internship and Residency or Fellowship program in Pediatrics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Reviews patient file/record, including allergies, problems, medications, well-child visits, and immunization status. Elicits and records information about patient's medical, developmental, social, and family history. Examines patient to determine general physical condition or presence of disease or injury. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient. Administers or prescribes treatments as needed. Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient's condition and allergies. Prescribes and administers vaccinations to immunize patient from communicable diseases. Discusses any possible side effects to medication or immunization with parent or patient. Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being. Follows up with patient or parent regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases. Establishes preventive health practices. Provides guidance to parent and patient regarding nutrition, safety, discipline, injury, and disease prevention.
