Copeland Electrical Engineering Co-Op (Fall Semester - August 2024 Start) in St. Louis, Missouri

An Electrical Engineering Co-Op will develop both lab and design skills by building & programming prototypes, performing product validation & testing, doing circuit design & printed circuit board layout, and performing circuit simulation & analysis. They will work with other members of the New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering teams to solve manufacturing, customer, quality, and engineering problems with existing Electronics and Controls products.

AS AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING CO-OP, YOU WILL:

  • Assist with prototyping of electronic circuits and evaluation

  • Assist with other general engineering tasks as directed by supervisor

  • Operate laboratory test equipment, machine shop tools, and data acquisition equipment

  • Order components and other engineering supplies required during the development process

  • Perform data collection

  • Perform electrical performance testing & data collection

  • Perform software simulation and design analysis

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

  • Current enrollment in an ABET accredited Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electronic Engineering Technology

  • Completed at least three semesters of course work

  • Basic skills in schematic capture and circuit simulation software

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

  • Fundamental concepts of the following electrical engineering principles: Circuits I and Circuits II, Electronic Devices, AC & DC Circuits, Digital Logic, Microprocessor Architecture, and Intro to C++ Programming.

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

Schedule

We offer the flexibility of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers. This role does not involve any travel. This Co-op will be January-May, and we can work with your schedule each semester.
