Job Title: AutoCAD Designer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Drafter/Designer to join our multi-discipline team of engineers and designers. The successful candidate will provide construction-ready design packages, including all civil and structural substation foundation design information necessary for the construction of medium and high voltage substations. The technician must be adept at converting engineered sketches and drawings into vector-based drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation as directed by engineers.
Responsibilities
Provide construction-ready design packages for medium and high voltage substations.
Convert engineered sketches and drawings into vector-based drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Learn and apply drafting and company standards.
Perform drafting tasks at a rate set by management.
Review your own work to ensure zero error output.
Research assigned projects, new drafting techniques, and job-related knowledge to further your career.
Essential Skills
Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Foundation construction and civil construction experience.
Proficient in civil drafting and substation design.
Two or more years of increasing drafting experience including scaling, drawing layout, and lettering.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Degree or certificate of completion from an accredited drafting program.
Basic knowledge of substation terminology and symbolism (a plus but not required).
Self-motivated to increase job-related knowledge and further career.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily an engineering office setting, with the possibility to work from home on occasion.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00
