Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Pediatrics Critical Care. The position is located at the Northwest Tower. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Provides scientific and technical support for clinical informatics-related work; serves as a resource to provide comprehensive data query and analysis, using new or existing clinical informatics data tools; builds, tests, and audits databases. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides technical support and assistance with data collection and report generation. 2. Works with PI to design, perform, and evaluate research procedures; confers with PI to assist in developing plans for research projects and discusses the interpretation of results. 3. Assists PIs in the preparation of manuscripts for publications and preparation of grant proposals to sponsoring agencies; assists in the preparation of amendments to protocols and/or modifications to study design as appropriate. 4. Ensures appropriate procedures, and explains policies and procedures; ensures that research projects are completed according to IRB and federal guidelines. 5. Analyzes and assesses the quality of the data from the clinical informatics systems; follows the “data supply chain” to assess system interface constraints and recommend appropriate solutions; researches and recommends new methods and procedures to maintain data standards and improve data quality. 6. Builds, tests, and audits databases. 7. Provides technical and analytical support for other projects that the PI is engaged with. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a science field, plus four years of clinical or research experience; eight years of relevant education and work experience may substitute for this requirement. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in information systems, with clinical/clinical research information system experience preferred; knowledge of REDCap, and Excel. * Knowledge of EPIC, SQL database tools, i2b2, CIDER, ClinPortal, caTissue, tools a plus. * Ability to work in a team environment to utilize technical and clinical skills to add to the collaborative environment in the systems development team. * Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to communicate in oral and written form with all levels of personnel. * Ability to prioritize tasks in a diverse environment. * Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. * Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and statistical software such as SAS, Stata or SPSS. * Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $56,472 - $73,403 annually.
