Job Summary: This position is responsible for supervising and providing day-to-day services, to include the needs of consumers and meeting all program requirements established by the Department of Mental Health and/or other governing entities. This supervisor is the overseer of all crisis services provided at the organization. Essential Job Functions: • Serves as the second in command to ensure the appropriateness of care and interventions. • Assists in tracking outcomes of staff intervention and overall performance. • Ensures that crisis bed placements are properly screened and linked. • Manages the crisis hotline after hours and on weekends in the absence of the supervisor. • Ensures that linkages are made, and continuity of care is provided following BHR next day urgent appointments. • Follows up on all clients assessed as urgent or emergent after assessment to ensure proper care is provided. • Monitors clients evaluated to be at risk of suicide and placed on the Care Path. Ensures that these clients receive proper contact and follow up as clinically indicated. • Is aware of all clients who are hospitalized. Ensures that discharge planning is completed, and follow up is provided post hospitalization, including linkage to the client’s provider and provision of hospitalization records. • Minimum Education, Training and Experience • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, etc. • Effective communication skills • Additional Requirements • Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations of the program to which the employee is assigned. • Detailed knowledge of the problems encountered by persons with mental illness and how to assess the various community resources available. • Aptitudes to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services within the assigned program responsibilities. • Capability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to produce clear and concise reports. • Supervisory Requirements: • Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives. • Effective communication to employees any changes and newsworthy events within the department of company to all employees to ensure practice. • Collects and maintains data on outcomes. •
