About the role
We are seeking a Structural Engineering Team Lead to join our Sydney Buildings team . The role will be suitable for a structural design expert experienced in building projects. We are currently working on a wide range of health care, commercial, retail, defence, industrial and educational building projects.
In this role, you will be a technical and business leader within the structural section and will be able to influence the design and project delivery of all projects assigned to you. You will be able to work independently on a wide range of projects with an ability to manage workload on several projects at different stages of completion. In this role, apart from utilising your technical expertise, you will be client facing, involved in developing new business, networking, and managing stakeholders.

Our Structural team within Buildings in Sydney consists of Engineers, Designers, BIM Modelers, Grads and Undergrads.
Responsibilities include
Undertake Structural engineering assessment and calculations for the detailed structural design of Buildings
Assist Structural Team in successfully completing projects, with focus on program, documentation, profitability, technical aspects, risk management and overall Client satisfaction
Provide technical competence in the planning and design of complex projects
Correspond with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies
Prioritise workloads whilst ensuring our clients’ needs are met whilst maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with your colleague's both locally and across the international Stantec team.
Work closely and develop trusted relationships with other project stakeholders, internal and external to achieve efficient and cost-effective solutions with a high-quality outcome
Demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery
Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships
Qualifications
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering
Engineers Australia (NER)
Qualified Design Building Practitioner (DBP)
Demonstrated structural design experience of Buildings, ideally in engineering consultancy.
Thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
Structural software knowledge of RAM Concept and ETABS (essential)
Knowledge of building stability analysis and corresponding detailing
Business development, client and stakeholder management experience
Knowledge and capability across post-tensioned and reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and timber
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Problem solving mindset with strong interpersonal skills
