What you`ll do

One component to support SAP transforming to the Intelligent Enterprise is the next generation remote support framework. The goal of this project is to provide a platform for all Lines of Businesses at SAP to utilize a modern, reliable and simplified infrastructure to access our customers heterogenous solutions remotely in a secure and controlled way at all times considering legal, internal and country specific compliances and regulations.

As Development Expert (f/m/d) you will be part of remote connectivity team. We are looking for an exceptionally talented and highly motivated colleague (f/m/d) with an open mind set and elevated user empathy. If you are a strong team player, inspired to leap into the future and put the customers always into the center of all your activities, you would enjoy being part of this team improving SAPs customer experience in this area. We are using newest technologies like Kyma@BTP, Cloud Connector and our developments are mostly based on Java and UI5.

You will be responsible for programming and testing, taking architectural decisions in the cloud as well as maintenance of the new SAP Remote Support Infrastructure application, APIs network connectivity tools and utilities.

The main tasks of the job include:

• program and test product features, take architectural decisions in the cloud by using agile development practices

• Demonstrate excellent quality, architecture design, development and delivery skills in scrum teams working in short development and release cycles

• Support DevOps related tasks including delivery, operations and support of the solution

• Drive improvements, simplifications and innovations in development processes

• Constantly listen to customers and consult stakeholders as domain experts for product improvements and enhancements

What you bring

• Minimum of 10 years in software development, with a focus on cloud-native application development and DevOps practices.

• Experience with newest cloud architecture (containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kyma).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services as well as Business Technology Platform (BTP)

• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices, using tools like Jenkins.

• Proficiency with version control systems like Git and platforms such as GitHub.

• Proficiency in Java, with experience in Spring Boot and microservices architecture.

• Proven ability to work in agile environments and adapt to evolving requirements.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach.

• FluentEnglish language skills oral and written, German is a plus

You will be part of the Customer Experience Group within the Corporate Processes and IT (CPIT) organization at SAP. Our mission is to enhance customer interactions with SAP's IT solutions by providing a modern, reliable, and simplified infrastructure for remote support. This project is crucial to SAP's transformation into an Intelligent Enterprise, ensuring secure and compliant remote access to our customers' diverse solutions.

The Remote Support Infrastructure is supported by two dedicated development teams. The successful candidate will join our team in Germany, which focuses on developing next-generation solutions for SAP's internal stakeholders and maintaining existing legacy systems. Our counterpart team in Poland delivers solutions specifically for SAP customers. Together, both teams represent the Remote Support Infrastructure, providing comprehensive support and development services.
