BayCare Health System is currently in search of our newest Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant - Pool who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service. As part of the community since 1934, St. Joseph’s Hospital has been a partner for continued health and wellness. As a Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for providing specialized physical therapy services to pediatric patients both within the inpatient and outpatient settings. A main focus with this position will be on treating children with various developmental, neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions, aiming to improve their functional abilities and quality of life. This position will also provide the opportunity to assist in our Serial Casting program as well as in our Motion Analysis Center during Gait Analysis.

Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant - Pool Responsibilities:

• Follow individualized treatment plans based on the physical therapist’s evaluation findings, patient and family goals, and physician recommendations.

• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve developmental milestones, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and overall functional mobility.

• Assist the lead physical therapist in the Serial Casting program for pediatric patients with conditions such as cerebral palsy, spasticity, and other neuromuscular disorders to improve joint alignment, range of motion, and functional abilities.

• Assist the Motion Analysis Center coordinator to assess and analyze movement patterns, biomechanics, and functional gait deviations in pediatric patients.

• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, orthotists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for pediatric patients.

• In collaboration with the physical therapist, provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and strategies to optimize functional independence and safety.

• Document treatment interventions in daily note format, in a timely manner and in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.

• Stay current with evidence-based practice guidelines, pediatric physical therapy techniques, and advancements in technology related to pediatric rehabilitation.
