Duties:
- Under general supervision of the county's Prosecuting Attorney and using a considerable degree of independent judgment, handles appellate and post-conviction matters on behalf of the People of the State of Michigan.
- Conducts research and prepares legal briefs and other pleadings for submission to trial courts, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court.
- Reviews and responds to incoming pleadings in criminal appellate and post-conviction matters.
- Represents the People in oral argument in trial courts, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court.
- Assists trial prosecutors through research assistance, legal training, and updates on relevant developments in the law.
- Maintains organized legal files in appellate and post-conviction cases.

Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited law school.
- No prior experience required.
- Starting salary will be commensurate with experience.
Special Requirements:
- Must be a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
- If awaiting bar results, applicant may be hired in pending passage of bar exam.
