Corewell Health Polysomnographic Technologist in St Joseph, Michigan
Job Summary
Provides physicians and patients with support needed to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders and the promotion of good sleep.
Essential Functions
Performs diagnostic sleep testing, including but not limited to order interpretation, medication administration, patient hook-up and monitoring, BLS responsibility, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) initiation and titration, oxygen administration, and other related duties.
Analyzes data collected during sleep testing, including but not limited to staging, calculation of appropriate indices, and other related activities.
Documents findings / patient responses in a manner consistent with documentation guidelines.
Maintains equipment for proper function and operation.
Evaluates patients' and significant others' educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or makes appropriate referrals.
Mentors polysomnographic technicians with regard to all aspects of sleep medicine. Validates ten percent of scoring performed by polysomnographic technicians.
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required And
CRT-Polysomnographic Technologist - BRPT Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists Upon Hire required Or
CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
