Intergalactic Senior Program Manager in St. George, Utah

The Program Manager will lead, manage, and track all aspects of programs to help achieve all strategic, contractual, and tactical milestones from the time that a new program is awarded to the final delivery of contracted intellectual and physical product to the customer. This role will also bear responsibility for acquiring resources for programs and processes while supporting the organization's strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long term goals. In addition to managing internal teams, the Program Manager is the primary Point of Contact with customers during program execution and plays an indispensable role as the face of Intergalactic.

Expected Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Manage individual programs, as assigned, by leading all crew members in a matrixed organization through their various job functions, including business development support, engineering, design, purchasing, assembly, test, SDRLs, customer TIMs, and more. Serve as the main point of contact and main focal point of communication, timelines, tasks, and schedules.

  • Maintain effective communication on all aspects of the program among the project team and the client to ensure all goals, tasks, and deliverables are understood clearly throughout the entire program.

  • Maintain effective and positive communication with program customers to ensure a strong relationship and positive supplier rating. Anticipate customer needs and provide services that are beyond customer expectations.

  • Provide timely, clear, and concise communication of program status, risks and opportunities, scope change information, and recovery plans to all stakeholders.

  • Be a positive role model and inspirational leader for the internal program team.

  • Support, lead, and delegate the project team's responsibilities and tasks through all stages of the project life cycle in a matrixed reporting structure.

  • Support fellow Program Managers and Senior Program Managers as directed.

  • Effectively lead individual crew member to successful outcomes for improved project performance.

  • Work within the program team to provide program strategy and milestones including detailed concepts, task lists, action items, roadmaps, master schedules, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Work with leadership to track resource requirements and resource usage on each program using clearly defined metrics. Monitor and track metrics for future project baseline estimates.

  • Ensure that each team and team member understands what they need to deliver.

  • Ensure that program challenges or negative outcomes at any stage are made transparent to all stakeholders; that remaining risks are identified; and that mitigating measures are developed and implemented within and throughout program teams.

  • Identify and lead the evaluation of key decisions to be made at each meeting and gate review to eliminate bottlenecks and reduce risks.

  • Track, capture, and communicate lessons learned across the organization.

  • Support key decisions by working cross-functionally across departments to achieve program objectives.

  • Develop and execute project and process plans, have command of and implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.

  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, and provide technical management of suppliers in collaboration with Supply Chain colleagues.

  • Lead process improvements by identifying gaps and implementing corrections.

  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and other crew members.

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.

  • Generate and update Program Management Plans (PMP) which include marketing/executive Summary, integrated master schedule, risk mitigation plan, Spec/SOW (Statement of Work) Compliance Matrices, Qual Test Matrices, Technical Summaries, and budget information.

  • Conduct SRR/PDR/CDR/TRRs (Supplier Readiness Reviews, Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews) as well as other reviews for programs with the customers.

  • Review and acknowledge customer contracts/POs, Specifications, SOWs, and Coordination Memos, and other correspondence of a contractual nature.

Job Levels

Level 1: Program Manager

Level 2: Senior Program Manager

Expected Hours of Work

Salaried crew members are generally expected to work a baseline of forty (40) hours per week, although a priority is placed on achieving results rather than tracking time.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Program Manager has indirect supervisory responsibility for the matrixed program team in connection with achievement of program objectives.

Physical Requirements

This role requires sitting, walking, or standing for several hours at a time. This role requires the ability to lift up to 15 pounds, open cabinets, bend, or stand on a stool as needed.

Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor office environment and routinely interacts with other crew members and customers. Activity in the shop floor and lab environment, at customer office and lab facilities, and at third-party test facilities is also occasionally required. This role routinely uses both paper and electronic record-keeping systems and communication equipment.

Travel Requirements

Occasional multi-day overnight travel is expected for this position.

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or program management discipline.

  • 5 years of combined experience working professionally in program management, project management, project engineering, or an equivalent technical role.

  • 2 years of experience in the aerospace industry.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Project Management Professional certification is a preferred credential.

Work Authorization

Eligibility to work in the United States (U.S. person status) is required, as is compliance with U.S. export control regulations.
