Urgently Hiring for a Die Maker for our first shift.
Shift:
1st Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm
Compensation:
Pay Range $28.50 - $34.86 per hour based on experience

Responsibilities
This position is for Pactiv Evergreen Inc.
Summary:
Die Maker position is responsible for designs & completes production of all types of cutting / folding dies and counter plates for production & off press make ready including lock up hardware to enable meeting necessary quality standards in finished product. Constructs stripping dies & cylinders and makes samples.
Essential duties and responsibilities: Duties performed by employees in this position will include, but not be limited to the following:
Set-up dies according to layout & other specifications
Uses judgment in planning work for most accurate and efficient production of dies & counter plates
Designs & develops sample cartons of all types with assistance
Designs dies according to layout & other specifications
Plan work for most accurate & efficient production of dies including repair work
Assists with maintaining inventories of dies & die materials
Assists with make ready
May make suggestions to change layout for maximum efficiency
Provide innovative solutions for production problems
Works without supervision and has no helpers
Avoids waste by proper handling of die materials & dies
Consistently operating common trade tools in a safe manner at or above standard levels of operation considering waste, efficiency, and utilization
Avoids damage to flatbed press, grinders, benders & common trade tools by proper operation
Able to communicate effectively, get along with coworkers, management, and deal effectively and professionally under pressure
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree or 2 years related experience
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, micrometers, and calipers
Requires working knowledge of all styles & types of folding cartons & box board
Knowledge of how to use hand tools
Ability to use hand tools to remove, install, and adjust parts
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience working as a tool and die maker
Operating knowledge of circular & jog saw; drill, drill press, grinder, rule benders & cutters, micrometer, dividers, & drafting table

Physical Requirements/ Environmental Conditions:
Frequent walking & constant standing
Frequent repetitive twisting or pressure of hands or wrists
Occasional heavy lifting ranging from 10 - 50 lbs.
Occasional lifting from ankle/bench height
Occasional pushing/pulling of 30 lbs.
Occasional climbing of ladders, stooping, kneeling
Frequent exposure to fumes
Must be able to work around operational machinery
Occasional exposure to dust
The noise level in the work environment is consistently above 85 decibels
Able to work with dust from paper converting process
The employee constantly works near moving mechanical parts and lift trucks
The employee is occasionally exposed to products such as degreasers and silicone sprays
Required to wear steel-toed shoes, bump cap, hair net, ear plugs and safety glasses in manufacturing area and beard net required
Ambient temp and humidity may be elevated during the summer months

St. Charles is a city in DuPage and Kane counties in the state of Illinois. It lies roughly 40 miles west of Chicago on Illinois Route 64. As of the 2010 census the population was 32,974, and as of 2019 the population had decreased to an estimated 32,887.
The plant was built in 1969, manufactures Paper Cartons and Cups, and has approximately 200 employees. It is proud to have received the Environmental Excellence Award for 6 years in a row.
