About the Role

Our Dukes Golf Course plays host to an outstanding 5* Championship Golf Course, situated on the edge of St Andrews. The club has an excellent reputation with a range of facilities on offer to its members and guests. We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Seasonal Golf Operations Associate to become an integral member of the DSA Golf Operation and to contribute to the profitability and operation of the golf outlets across our resort.

Duties and Responsibilities

The applicant will be an integral member of the DSA Golf operation during our busy high season. They will contribute to the profitability & operation to Duke’s Golf.

They will display conscientious standards of work and will execute at a high level.

  • All of Golf Operations duties

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Experience

  • Exceed Guests’ and members’ expectations through excellent and engaging service.

  • Anticipate Guest needs.

Pro Shop

  • Merchandising Product – maintain shops with high quality displays.

  • Stock control through stock taking and spot checks.

  • Provide creative ideas to increase sales.

Golf ops

  • Buggy Store – manage and maintain buggy operation through clean down, watering, and general tidy.

  • 1st Tee Starter – welcoming golfers to the Duke’s Course, offering advice on tee boxes and giving brief description of the layout of the course. Also offering advice on the pace of play and course conditions. Providing an overview of functionality of the Halfway House. Liaising with Meet and Greet to ensure the driving range is presentable and fully stocked.

  • Meet and Greet – Improve guests’ experience by providing a welcome and layout of the property, including restaurant, changing facilities, Pro Shop and driving range. Ensure standards of arrival area are of the highest standard. Oversee daily buggy operation and maintain standards of cleanliness.

  • Driving Range – Providing and clearing range balls and maintain set-up to a high standard. Clearing baskets & teeing area.

  • Duke’s Admin – Enhancing guests’ experience by offering knowledgeable information regarding all Duke’s Golf bookings and offering additional information on Duke’s Restaurant bookings. Responsible for ensuring tee sheets are organised and pre-payments are taken. Expected to retrieve all necessary information from guest to allow for pre-arrival gifts to be made. Assist with any general admin when required.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic, well presented, friendly and confident individual who has excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with a flexible approach and passion for golf. You will enjoy working as part of a team but can also work independently.

Education and Experience Requirements

Desirable skills and experience of the position include:

  • Previous golf operations experience.

  • Hospitality experience or relevant qualifications.

  • Confidence in using the following programs POS, Excel, and Word.

Salary

This is a seasonal opportunity during our high season, until September. A flexible shift pattern is offered with a competitive hourly rate up to £12.36, depending on experience and a range of associate benefits. This role includes weekend working, early mornings, and evenings.

Job Type: Fixed term contract starting April 2024

Salary: £10.68- £12.36 per hour
