As the Sonix Supply Chain Manager, you will work directly with Operations, Finance, Engineering, and New Product Introduction teams to implement a robust global supply chain. In this leadership role, you will lead the day to day Procurement, Planning, and logistics for the Springfield, VA facility. You will have ownership of several key performance metrics: Inventory, PPV, E&O, OTD, PAL.

For NPI support, your team will be the primary Supply Chain focal point to assess program needs, align sourcing strategies to achieve core program objectives, identify potential supply chain risks and run risk mitigation plans from product concept to mass production. During the product development phase, you will be leading cost, quality, and schedule, while establishing a strong supply chain foundation for the entire product life cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve material cost improvements from global supply base.

  • Champion supplier quality and delivery issues to resolution.

  • Direct experience with product costing & benchmarking techniques, bill of materials structuring, and manufacturing planning processes.

  • Ability to conduct supply chain risk assessments, develop and implement risk mitigation strategies within critical schedule deadlines.

  • Implement DRS supplier quality tools and processes.

  • Develop strategies to improve inventory position and negotiate world class working capital terms with supply base.

  • Develop and drive freight and other indirect cost reduction programs.

  • Drive synergy and collaboration with other sites within the Tektronix and Keithley Supply Chain teams

  • Support Engineering in new product development including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes/samples, and qualifying suppliers as production capable.

  • Directly lead a diverse group of supply chain professionals in Springfield, VA, and assume direct leadership and coaching for factory Supply Chain Team.

  • Identify and develop potential new suppliers both domestically and abroad, escalate potential preferred suppliers to corporate for further analysis.

  • Proactively monitor marketplace conditions, long-range supplier capacity issues, supplier closings, and supplier situations that would have a major impact on the global business.

  • Coordinate supplier tooling projects and capital requests.

  • Become proficient utilizing Fortive Business System (FBS) tools and champion continuous improvement initiatives in quality, delivery, and cost.

  • Manage shipping, receiving, and incoming inspection operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required) in Business, Engineering or a related field.

  • 5 years+ of purchasing or supply chain experience in a lean manufacturing environment. Supply-chain management experience with discrete manufacturing organization required.

  • Experience using lean systems or six sigma processes in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience in low-volume/high-mix production as well as build-to-order preferred.

  • Material management experience including Kan-ban deployment, a good working knowledge of ERP systems, and order fulfillment processes required.

  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and technical problem-solving skills.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others, deliver results, make an immediate impact, and manage by fact.

  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

  • May be assigned various projects and responsibilities at the sole discretion of the Director of Operations.
