POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Development Team Assistant supports product development team(s) daily operating functions in developing new products or executing product revisions. The Team Assistant is responsible for processing samples requests, distribution of samples, creating packaging design requests, following up on project tracking schedules with vendors and 3rd party service providers, and supporting teams with projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Communicating with vendors/factories overseas regarding samples status, timelines, quotes, product information, and requests for spare parts.

  • Initiate product packaging job requests

  • Review and proof packaging job content with developers and follow through with designers for updates until project completion

  • Responsible to managing packaging project updates (ie. CA Prop 65, brand standard updates)

  • Complete product New Item Set-up forms for hardgoods overseas vendors on the vendor portal

  • Create product SKUs and UPCs

  • QC check packaging files for UPC reading accuracy

  • Work with product development teams on product reviews and support customer service inquiries

  • Communicate updated specifications, instruction sheets of new items for factories, and product pages on internet

  • Assist development teams in loading information into product/program spreadsheets for line reviews, cost analysis, customer feedback, and/or other data entry projects

  • Actively participate in development team meetings to assist in project tracking status and follow-up

  • Ship and track all product samples to/from factories.

  • Pull samples for review and coordinate shipment of reference samples to vendors.

  • Ensure samples shipments are compliant with correct HTS and ECCN codes

  • Provide administrative support for ordering supplies, processing invoices/expenses, vendor agreements

  • Other duties to be assigned

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred Degree : Associates Degree in general business

  • Experience : 2-3 years experience in office experience; Functional knowledge of MS Teams, Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Can adapt to changing priorities

  • Works efficiently

  • Very well organized

  • Time management skills, can meet tight deadlines.

  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships

  • Self-motivated, works well independently

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular computer work, and sitting

  • Occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 50lbs

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
