POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and routine maintenance on the building systems, and assigned equipment. This includes performing projects and response maintenance duties on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and finish building trades.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Schedules and performs electrical maintenance consisting of repairing, troubleshooting, or replacing switches, lighting controls, lighting fixtures, motors, motor starters, Programmable Logics Controls, variable frequency drives and performing routine inspections for safety and equipment maintenance. This includes diagnosis and making minor adjustment utilizing the human interface modules.
Schedules and performs plumbing deficiencies consisting of repairing or replacing broken pipes, pumps, valves and seals, flush valves, clearing clogging lines, and performing routine inspections for safety and equipment maintenance. This includes operating fire suppression notification systems.
Schedules and performs repairs on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and air compressors systems to include diagnosing faulty equipment and performing routine inspections for safety and equipment maintenance.
Briefs and controls contracted maintenance support and performing daily monitoring utilizing the Building Automation System.
Schedules and performs material handling equipment repairs consisting of conveyors, lift equipment, hoists, maintenance plat forms, dock levelers, and elevators. This includes briefing and controlling contracted maintenance support as well as performing routine inspections for safety and equipment maintenance.
Installs and repairs various appliances consisting of smoke detection systems, intrusion alarm devices, security systems, kitchen appliances, shredders, compactors, and time clocks. This includes briefing and controlling contracted maintenance support as well as performing routine inspections for safety and equipment maintenance.
Coordinates and completes finishing building trades which include painting, floor repairs, wall and door repairs, and other assigned carpentry and fabrication projects.
Mentors and trains less experienced staff in all aspects of the job.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: Vocational-Technical Degree in related discipline required
Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, electrical or equipment maintenance required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Knowledge of PLCs and servo motor
Knowledge of electrical systems and circuits
Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
Ability to work independently and follow directions required
Excellent problem-solving skills required
