PeaceHealth is seeking a Program Director - Behavioral Health Services for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $71.25 – $106.87. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing operational leadership and for planning, developing and directing patient care programs and related capital projects for Behavioral Health Services. This includes collaboration and linkage with the Emergency Department and other inpatient units.

Essential Functions

  • Provides leadership for operational effectiveness, clinical excellence and personnel management. Supervises staff for assigned services and programs across the continuum of care.

  • Provides direct daily operational oversight of care and services within the inpatient behavioral health department: supervision of personnel; staff performance and patient outcomes; staff procurement and retention; regulatory compliance; and patient care. Evaluates work performance and conduct annual performance assessments. Delegates and coordinates responsibility for completion of departmental projects, tasks, and activities.

  • Creates and monitors infrastructure, systems, processes and standards to achieve desired outcomes in collaboration with medical directors, department chairs and medical staff.

  • Provides fiscal and business planning that promotes revenue enhancements and cost efficiency. Develops, implements and monitors operating and capital budgets. Accountable for meeting budgetary and operational targets as defined by triple aim outcomes.

  • Develops strategic and long-range plans and policies for the effective implementation and operation of specific patient care programs and associated activities.

  • Develops and supports clinical processes that assure patient safety. Accountable for knowledge of and for achieving or exceeding national benchmarks and patient safety goals for scope of accountability.

  • Leads continuous improvement efforts that promote clinical excellence, revenue enhancement and cost efficiency. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, department managers, staff and customer that lead to measurable improvement in patient care outcomes, efficiency and customer service.

  • Ensures regulatory compliance for all areas of responsibility.

  • Monitors, communicates, and works to improve patient, physician and staff satisfaction.

  • Plans, develops, implements and evaluates new patient care programs and practice models including identification of clinical objectives, capital and other resource requirements, expected operating revenues and expenses, allocation of space and organization of program personnel and other operation components.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Accredited School of Nursing Required

  • Master's Degree Required: Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. or its equivalent, from a school of nursing accredited by the NLN or be qualified by education and experience in the care of the mentally ill Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years Required: Related experience and

  • Minimum of 5 years Required: Management or leadership experience and

  • Required: Demonstrated experience in developing successful working relationships at all levels of the organization

Credentials

  • Required : Oregon RN License (Required to have upon Starting)

  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support

  • Ability to deliver financial results for areas of accountability.

  • Effective communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, lead change, remain current with healthcare environment changes and translate those changes into operational plans to discern and interpret the potential impact on assigned departments/community(s).

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications.

Lifting

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
