Requirements: Qualified applicants must hold a current Oregon CNA II certification & basic life support. All candidates must pass a drug screen, reference and background check in order to be considered for employment. SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting physicians and nurses with patient care, and environmental tasks. Conveys a positive image of clinic. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.; collecting patient medication history; assisting physicians/nurses with various procedures; Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: occasionally sending/receiving patient medical records; calling and preparing telemedicine charts, completing forms/requisitions as needed; Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include: setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms; Fulfills organizational responsibilities as assigned which may include: respecting/promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisors quickly. EDUCATION: Successful completion of Certified Nursing Aide program. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year CNA experience preferred. Previous clinic experience a plus. REQUIREMENTS: Must maintain appropriate CNA II certificate in Oregon and CPR certification. KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of health care field and medical specialty. Knowledge of principles of body mechanics.
