MENTAL HLTH SVC FOR CLARK & MADISON COUNTIES Registered Nurse (ACT/Community Based) in Springfield, Ohio

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is a form of community-based mental health care for individuals experiencing serious mental illness that interferes with their ability to live in the community, attend appointments with professionals in clinics and hospitals, and manage mental health symptoms. 

 

We are currently hiring a [Registered Nurse (RN)]{.underline} for our ACT Team in Springfield. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours/week, and on-call rotation is required. Hours of work may fluctuate due to patient/client needs. ACT Teams provide services in the community and/or homes of the clients they serve. 

 

[Major Responsibilities of the ACT RN Include:]{.underline}

  • Coordinating, scheduling and administering medical assessments and pharmacologic care of clients, making appropriate referrals to community physicians for further assessment and treatment, and coordinate psychiatric treatment with medical treatment.
  • Providing assistance in achieving personal independence through developing daily living skills and in managing basic needs as identified by the client. Provide activities that increase client's capacity to positively impact their environment.
  • Mental health interventions that address symptoms, behaviors, thought processes
  • Assist clients in eliminating barriers to seeking or maintaining education and employment.
  • Coordination and/ or assistance in crisis management as needed.

[Qualified candidates must have:]{.underline}

  • OH Registered Nurse (RN) license, active and valid
  • 1 year of behavioral or mental health experience as a nurse
  • Prior community based nursing or similar environment preferred. Experience with SMI population preferred
  • Valid Ohio Drivers License and ability to be insured by insurance/liability insurance

*You MUST have a valid Ohio drivers license with an insurable, clean driving abstract. ACT Team Members utilize their own vehicles for transportation of clients and must provide proof of insurance at Ohio minimum standards. You receive mileage and an insurance allowance yearly. *

 

*MHS provides CPR/First Aid and NVCI (CPI Blue) for all new staff, along with on-going education and on-the-job training opportunities. *

 

*All MHS candidates are required to have an Ohio BCI check (FBI check required if you have lived in Ohio for less than 5 years, or for working with children), 5-panel drug screen and residential candidates must have a 2 step TB (or proof of prior TB) upon conditional offer of employment. *
