Steel processor in Springfield OH is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join the production team.
Machine Operator Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate heavy industrial machinery such as slitters, levelers, cut-to-length lines, etc
- Read and interpret customer order specifications, work orders, and blueprints
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality standards
- Perform regular quality checks on processed steel products
- Report any equipment issues or malfunctions to maintenance staff
- Keep workstation clean, organized and follow all safety protocols
Qualifications for Machine Operator - Steel Processing:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification a plus
- Minimum 1 year experience as a machine operator in steel processing/manufacturing
- Ability to operate industrial machinery, tools and equipment safely
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication and basic math skills
- Attention to detail and quality focused
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
