Humana is seeking an experience Oracle Database Administrator who is passionate about improving processes and technology that are critical to the operation of our company.

You will be working with a team of experienced Oracle database administrators supporting databases across multiple technologies including AIX and AWS cloud, with opportunities to learn and support other advanced systems such as Oracle Exadata and Delphix. We have a great team that works collaboratively and cohesively to support some of the top technologies available in the industry.

Full Job Description

The Senior Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for supporting large Oracle databases for critical business segments including designing, upgrading, tuning, refreshing, and performing maintenance on Oracle Databases from 12c to 19c and beyond. The Oracle DBA will work collaboratively with our team of DBAs to share knowledge, provide cohesive support to hundreds of databases, and participate in a rotating oncall responsibility. Database Administrators will work closely with account representatives and project managers to plan for maintenance, refreshes of lower environments, and design and implement changes for future states. Strong performance skills are required for this role as well as skills requisite of senior database administrators such as backup and recovery, DataPump, understanding of database architecture and Oracle database objects, and a strong understanding of partitioning. Additionally, we are seeking candidates with some experience in Golden Gate to support a number of Golden Gate implementations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and managing enterprise-scale Oracle databases

  • 2 or more years of Golden Gate experience

  • Experience working on AIX

  • Experience working with Database Partitioning

  • Experience upgrading Oracle Database

  • Experience with cloning and refresh technologies such as DataPump export and import

  • Hands-on experience with performance analysis and tuning

  • Ability to support oncall 24x7 as part of a rotation within the team

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Project leadership skills such as developing plans and reporting status to leadership

  • Understanding of Oracle database architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Delphix

  • Experience with Oracle APEX

  • ASM experience

  • RAC experience

  • Container database/Pluggables experience

  • Certifications for database administration

Vaccine Policy
