This a part-time position, routinely working 24 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work during hours the Interlibrary Loan Department is open:
Monday through Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. As a condition of employment, work schedules may change as necessary to best provide user services and to meet the Librarys responsibility to the citizens of Greene County.

This position requires high school graduation, completion of a high school equivalent program such as a GED or current enrollment in high school or a high school equivalent program.All candidates for employment must be at least 16 years old.

Position Summary
The Interlibrary Loan Assistant supports interlibrary loan services by facilitating the borrowing and lending of library materials between different libraries. Responsibilities include managing interlibrary loan requests, processing incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate records of transactions, and coordinating the timely delivery of requested items. The assistant also communicates with other libraries to fulfill requests, resolves issues related to interlibrary loan transactions, and ensures compliance with interlibrary loan policies and procedures. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with library systems and procedures are essential for success in this role.
Essential Functions
Responsible for interlibrary loan lending duties:
Daily processing of incoming requests
Maintaining lending statistics
Preparing invoices for lost materials
Prepares interlibrary loan materials for shipment
Routinely searches catalog and place holds
Routinely operates resource-sharing databases and ILL module
Registers lending institutions for library cards
Routinely checks in, checks out, and renews library materials
Prepares outgoing mail and branch delivery
Orders mail and delivery supplies
Sorts and distributes incoming delivery to Library Center departments
Routine telephone and email communication
Assists system-wide staff with delivery and interlibrary loan policies and procedures
Interprets and implements the Librarys General Conduct Policy
