Employee Relations & Development Specialist Job Location - Springfield, MA Remote Type - Hybrid Position Type - Full-time Salary Range - \$67,000.00 - \$78,000.00 Salary Department: Administration/Human Resources Work Arrangement: Hybrid-remote Interested in joining our team of dedicated professionals? Way Finders is currently seeking a full-time Employee Relations & Development Specialist. The Employee Relations & Development Specialist contributes to our mission through their expertise in employee relations, including the resolution of personnel matters, and will take ownership of our performance management and staff development systems while providing backup with onboarding, new hire orientations, and related functions. This is a new position in our growing HR department, and will be a welcome addition to our current 5-person team that serves approximately 350 Way Finders employees! The candidate will in a hybrid-remote manner as appropriate to the needs of the department, roughly three days per week onsite. Living within commutable distance is required. Responsibilities include: Ownership of the staff development and employee relations functions of the department Create, administer, update, and effectively communicate staff training and development programs; track and update training completion in the database; provide reports and analysis Lead and facilitate required and recommended organizational training in a manner that is considerate of diverse learning styles Oversee employee relations including resolving personnel matters in a proactive, compliant, clear, and effective manner; conduct thorough, confidential investigations that adhere to laws, equity issues, and HR standards; provide employees with direction, fair timelines for follow-up action, and clear options to resolve issues, if available Provide supervisors with guidance and recommendations on employees\' performance improvement plans and corrective actions, keep track of improvement, and maintain employee records with such plans; manage the unemployment benefits claims system Collaborate with management and/or leadership to identify areas for improvement in employee relations and understand needs/challenges, Administer the performance management system in a clear and timely manner; keep updated, accurate records; run, analyze, and distribute reports that provide insight into successes, areas for improvement, potential for future learning and development, and trends Provide backup support in the areas of payroll and benefits administration and staff onboarding Provide new hire orientations as scheduled and necessary, including ensuring that materials are prepared in advance and all onboarding is completed according to regulations and best practices Proactively notify leadership on any matters that may have an adverse effect on the organization Proactively support manager and leadership by remaining current with employment laws, regulations, reporting requirements, and industry trends. Requirements include: 5 years\' experience in human resources with 1 year as a generalist; a combination of similar experience plus a bachelor?s degree may be a substitute Experience resolving personnel matters including those of a complex manner that may involve in-house investigations Ability to create and present trainings, allowing for differences in methods of learning Demonstrated knowledge of processes and best practices in payroll and benefits administration, onboarding, staff development, and performance management Proficiency with Microsoft Office and human resource information systems (HRIS) applications, and comfort learning and training others on new technologies Advanced organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, plus the ability to reprioritize to meet deadlines Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Bilingual preferred, but not required
