Air National Guard Units PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SCHEDULING) (TITLE 32) in Springfield, Illinois

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SCHEDULING) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2510000 and is part of the IL 183 WG, National Guard. Responsibilities As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SCHEDULING) (TITLE 32), GS-1152-7/9, you will perform preliminary planning and long-term forecasting of utilization of aerospace vehicles, engines, and associated support equipment. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Responsible for advising, planning and coordinating aircraft maintenance requirements and utilization scheduling between maintenance, operations, and external organizations. Actively participates in the Wing Flying Hour Working Group for planning, scheduling, and execution of the Wing's Flying Hour Allocation process. Verifies and reconciles the accuracy of unit flying hour allocations daily with Wing Operations Group and as directed with NGB AVDO and the Flying Hour Analyst. Manage all assigned major commodity areas (Airframe, Engine, Components and Special Projects). Develops, analyzes and evaluates multiple Maintenance Information System(s) (MIS) and various databases reports, charts and graphs to inform senior maintenance management. Communicate and advise leadership of potential over-utilization conditions. Analyzes and improves repair processes, methods, procedures and standards. Researches and determines cause for missed maintenance-related scheduled events and documents findings as required. Review both immediate and long-range requirements based on current workload forecasts and conditioned based maintenance and develops plans for obtaining resources to meet production requirements. Plan allocation of resources and distribution of work to ensure production commitments are accomplished as scheduled. Evaluate progress, analyze requirements and availability of resources, communicates changing priorities to work center supervisors to ensure work is accomplished efficiently and deconflicts maintenance activities. Monitor and update status of Work In Process (WIP). Requirements Conditions of Employment NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the Illinois National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code ยง 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades: Enlisted - Not to exceed the Rank of E-7 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education or training which indicates the ability to reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-9 Level MUST possess at least 24 months experience, education or training preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes; experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc. GS-7 Level MUST possess at least 12 months experience, education or training working with people from various levels and backgrounds; experience with a general knowledge of the functions and procedures of production control, records, references, and techniques for developing production control data; experience assisting or maintaining workflow?
