Responsibilities
Principal Cloud Operations Engineer
Location: telecommuting/remote from within the US
US citizenship required due to needed access to government systems.
Managed Cloud Services Operations is looking for a Principal Cloud Operations Engineer who has a strong background and understanding of Oracle Database Administration, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), WebLogic/Middle tier Administration and E-Business Suite Application Management. Apart from operations support, the candidate will also assist with automation, infrastructure provisioning and Cloud migrations. The role requires understanding of full stack from OS to Application tier including Network and firewalls.
Manage and Support Oracle Database, Middleware, and E-Business Suite Applications in OCI and On-premise environments
Implement and coordinate changes to Infrastructure, Database, Middleware, and Application layers - at OCI and in On-premise environments
Simplify Server/Service Management and reduce Incidents and Problems with Automation
Create Reusable Frameworks, Standards, and Automation to Manage Database, Middleware, and Application changes
Oracle Database upgrade from 12c to 19c and Multitenant configuration
Oracle E-Business Suite Application upgrade to 12.2.x
Migrate On-Premise E-Business and Middleware systems to OCI
Support & Maintain Oracle EBS Suite High Availability Design Spanning Data Centers - Database Node (RAC, Active Dataguard, Physical Standby, Snapshot Standby, Switchover, Failover). Web Node (Load Balance Web Nodes, DNS/Network Configuration) Forms Node (Load Balance Forms Nodes, Servlets), Parallel Concurrent Processing (Distribute load), Adding an EBS Node in a Shared Application Tier Filesystem
Backup and Recovery using RMAN and Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance - Monitor, Implement B&R performance improvements
Capacity management, recommendations, and managing implementation
Configure and monitor Database and Application targets using Oracle Enterprise Manager and custom scripts
The ideal candidate should have:
Bachelor's degree or master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
7+ years of experience in managing and delivering solutions using Oracle Database and Middleware, E-Business Suite products.
Hands-on experience with Scripting, Automation using high-level languages such as Python with strong Object-Oriented concepts.
Working knowledge on DevOps, focusing on Infrastructure Automation and Enhancement using any Orchestrator tools
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Will be part of a 24/7 environment, with coverage needed by people on both coasts. People on the east coast will start their day at 5 AM, with an on-call rotation to cover 2 AM - 5 AM ET. People on the west coast will work 9 AM - 6 PM, with on call rotation until midnight PT. People between the coasts will help cover both coasts.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $47.02 to $96.78 per hour; from $97,800 to $201,300 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $44.18 to $87.12 per hour; from $91,900 to $181,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $44.42 to $91.92 per hour; from $92,400 to $191,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $45.14 to $91.92 per hour; from $93,900 to $191,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
