General Electric Lead Engineer NDT Inspection Development - Ultrasonic/Infrared in Springdale, Ohio
Job Description Summary
This role supports the Ultrasonic, Infrared & Eddy Current Inspection Team, which is part of the Aviation Inspection Solutions organization. The team is responsible for designing, developing, validating, and deploying ultrasonic, infrared, and eddy current NDE inspection techniques for metal and composite aircraft engine components.

Roles and Responsibilities
Utilize first principles to develop cutting edge non-destructive inspection techniques
Serve as project and/or technical leader for NDT inspection development
Provide technical support to Supply Chain inspection sources
Assist inspection sources with implementation of new NDT techniques
Engage with design and materials engineering teams to define inspection requirements and assess inspectability
Perform lean and cost reduction activities
Define specifications to allow new technology introduction and address root cause corrective actions
Collaborate with colleagues to meet business commitments
Engage with external agencies to promote advancements in inspection capability and safety
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/ GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Engineering)
Minimum of 3 years hands on NDT experience in industry or academic setting
Desired Characteristics
Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Electrical, Materials, Biomedical, Mechanical, Systems or similar preferred
Prior NDT experience
Master of Science in Engineering: Electrical, Materials, Biomedical, Mechanical, Systems, or similar
Ability to guide and influence others
Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills
Effective team leadership skills
Effective project management ability
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability and willingness to support occasional travel
