Job Description

Summary:

This position is part of the sourcing process for capital, equipment products and or services at the best value that meets Tyson s standards of quality and reliability. This role plays an integral part in planning, coordinating, negotiating, implementing, and tracking procurement contractual commitments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In charge for developing and coordinating execution of bid packages for Capital Projects
  • External responsibilities include value capture, negotiating, and reporting of savings related to Capital Projects.
  • Internal responsibilities include active participation and coordination with plant operations, corporate engineering and others comply with Capital Procurement and other related Policies.
  • Participate actively in supplier relationship management and maintaining close contact with suppliers to keep them informed of policies and procedures
  • Engage continually with supplier base in cost savings initiatives and provide ongoing evaluation of their performance through specific measurement tools such as scorecards
  • Develop and maintain Category Management overviews, risk management assessments, business continuity plans, market driver assessments, and accompanying price mitigation plans company and supplier strategy and supplier measurements

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree preferred
  • Experience: Prefer 4+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations and/or Maintenance
  • Computer Skills: Requires intermediate computer skills in SAP and Microsoft office suite. Must possess the skill level to develop create and maintain advanced spreadsheets. Procore knowledge a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • Special Skills: Effective project management, prioritization, problem solving, leadership, negotiation, critical thinking, and influencing skills; interpersonal skills and developed business acumen are mandatory; multi-tasked, detail oriented, organized, and strong customer service skills; ability to exhibit judgment to handle confidential information and challenging business situations
  • Supervisory: Proven effective team building and leadership skills. Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross functional stakeholders is preferred
  • Travel: 1 - 5 domestic trips per year.
