The Mechanical Integrity Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to Southwestern Energy’s production locations and drilling and completions operations with the implementation, execution, and improvement of programs/practices for all types of equipment (fixed, rotating, electrical, instruments) and systems with primary emphasis on mechanical integrity as well as maintenance and reliability. The Mechanical Integrity Engineer will improve the site and infrastructure integrity by utilizing industry recognized tools, inspection methods, and standards including developing risk-based inspection priorities, assessment of damage mechanisms, selection of inspection methods and NDE techniques, inspection plan development, auditing/evaluation of site mechanical integrity programs, equipment failure analysis, and fitness for service assessments. The incumbent will have the leadership, technical, and communication skills to interface with both field and office-based staff and will also be self-motivated, team oriented, and results focused.
Lead the development of site critical equipment list by facilitating FMEA type analysis to ensure proper prioritization of critical equipment and spare part requirements
Evaluate, recommend, and assist in establishing preventative and predicative maintenance programs
Investigate problems and incidents to establish recommendations, solutions, and enhancements.
Serve as site technical resource for piping systems, stationary equipment, fixed equipment and infrastructure evaluations
Have experience performing storage tank, vessel and piping inspection using various nondestructive testing techniques
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Corrosion Engineering
Minimum1-5 years related experience with a Risk, Corrosion, and Integrity Engineering background.
Experience using and applying API Inspection codes, ASME BPVC, ASME Process Piping Code, ASME Repair, and NACE standards
Experience in Root Cause Failure Analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team
Must be willing and able to travel to various locations as required
