Job Title: Skilled Laborer

Job Description

We are a concrete manufacturing plant specializing in custom work for utility companies, highway rails, and more. We are seeking a dedicated Skilled Construction Laborer to assist in patch repair and preparation of products for delivery in accordance with our Quality Control Plan.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prepare, and patch concrete products.

• Remove concrete products from Production area to Stockyard area.

• Comply with all applicable rules and regulations, especially safety.

• Burn with oxy/acetylene (natural gas) equipment.

• Operate hand tools, drills, saws, core drills, generators, drill press, and cut-off saws.

• Understand chain charts and lifting capabilities of all chains and lifting bars.

• Load and offload fleet equipment according to paperwork provided by Dispatch and Stockyard Leader, as well as vendor equipment.

• Move truck tractor and flatbeds to be properly loaded.

• Operate SMV loader and boom trucks to facilitate loading and unloading.

• Keep work area clean and perform other housekeeping operations.

• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Essential Skills

• Experience with hand and power tools.

• Ability to read and use a tape measure.

• Prior experience in concrete labor or construction is highly preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Physical ability to bend, climb, and lift up to 75 lbs.

• Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, and understanding fractions.

• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Own PPE (hard hat, high visibility vest, safety glasses, work boots) is a plus.

• Experience with concrete finishing, rebar, assembly, and carpentry.

Work Environment

Our company has been in business since 1960 and manufactures precast concrete for the utility and transportation industry. The work environment includes exposure to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, and occasionally wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate. The workplace resembles an indoor construction site, which can be loud, dark, and dirty at times. Employees should wear steel toe work boots (preferred but not required), long work pants, and a t-shirt (no tank tops).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SPRING CITY, Pennsylvania

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
