Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Welder I to use Manual Welding skills to manufacture weldments to defined specifications, workmanship standards, and production schedules.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for MIG, stainless steel, and aluminum welding

  • Arrange parts for welding and staging processes

  • Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, saws, and welding fixtures.

  • Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results)

  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead

  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures

  • Uphold site efficiency standards

  • Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for Safety and Quality standards and procedures

  • Perform other duties as requested by the Lead

  • Assist in other work areas as assigned

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders

  • Possess a basic understanding of welding symbols, print tolerances, and quality measuring equipment

  • Pass AWS certifications for MIG welding steel and aluminum

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Comfortable learning new tasks

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma

  • Six months of welding experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

LOCATION

  • Onsite - Spooner, WI

SCHEDULE

  • Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am-4:30 pm

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
