We are currently seeking a Chemistry Technical Supervisor. This position coordinates the day-to-day operations in Chemistry/Immunoassay to ensure optimal performance. This position will oversee the quality of testing in the department, report/result turnaround time, effective FTE utilization, workload efficiency, and adherence to state, local, and federal guidelines and regulations. The position may also assist with budget requests, monitoring test volume, customer and employee satisfaction, and may provide input to help plan for incorporation of technology innovations and laboratory expansion. This Supervisory role requires adherence to departmental and company policies and procedures, participation in the Laboratory Leadership Team, continuous department improvement and standardization, and promotion of the company's mission and values. Minimum Qualifications: (knowledge, skills, and abilities)Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology with at least 4 years of training and/or experience in high complexity testing AND ASCP, NCA, or equivalent national certification Clinical time in the laboratory includes technical oversight experiencePrior experience validating and implementing new tests and technologiesKnowledge of Quality Improvement programs, processes, and toolsExperience with CLIA and CAP guidelines, checklists, and inspection processesAbility to work with individuals at all clinical laboratory levels, particularly peers, team members, and other departments Some knowledge of project planning, budgeting, and report developmentExcellent written, verbal, analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsSelf-directed, open to new learning experiences and demonstrate teamworkCompetency with computers, the internet, computer software such as MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and statistical software such as EP EvaluatorPreferred Qualifications: 4 years of laboratory supervisory experiencePrevious technical oversight of a laboratory departmentKnowledge of Lean principles and practicesLaboratory project participationAbility to travel to offsite locations for training as neededEssential Job Responsibilities:Maintain necessary skills in order to help cover bench duties as neededOversee the technical aspects of the Clinical Laboratory Chemistry/Immunoassay departmentOversee department equipment and materialsQuality ImprovementDepartment compliance with company, local, state, and federal regulations and guidelinesManage department budgetSafetyCommunicationLeadershipSupport Management priorities Performance Requirements: Maintain necessary skills in order to help cover bench duties as neededPerform all duties of department staffMaintain necessary skills in order to help
