Position Summary

The Audiovisual (AV) Field Engineer - II will provide technical commissioning support for Audiovisual (AV)/Information Technology (IT) systems in the field. This role requires a solid technical foundation in audiovisual systems, networking, and audio/video equipment, along with proficiency in related software. If you're detail-oriented, reliable, and an excellent communicator, and you're skilled in commissioning AV system installations, we want you to join our team.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4+ years of technical AV/IT or field engineering support experience.

  • High School Diploma or GED required. An Associate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

  • Must obtain AVIXA CTS and CompTIA A+ (or equivalent) certifications within one year of starting.

  • Intermediate skills in loading, testing, and editing control code and graphical user interfaces from AV equipment manufacturers such as AMX, Crestron, Extron, QSC, and others.

  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python, HTML, C#Pro, and digital communications protocols (IP, RS232, RS485, USB).

  • Experience in setting up and adjusting video displays, audio equipment, and conferencing systems. Proficiency with digital signal processors like Biamp, BSS, Crestron, Extron, and QSC.

  • Intermediate proficiency in configuring wired and wireless TCP/IP networks.

  • Strong communication, customer service, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines and multitask.

     

     

Key Responsibilities

Field Engineering Support: Utilize your engineering skills to provide expert support, including equipment configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and documentation for project teams.

Control Systems Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to prepare and submit control system submittals, ensuring seamless integration of all components.

Commissioning and Testing: Take the lead in loading, testing, and editing control code and graphical user interface files, with remote assistance when necessary. Conduct comprehensive systems testing, commissioning, and punch list preparation.

Job Completion: Support the commissioning phase by performing essential tasks, maintaining open communication with project teams, and ensuring system quality and performance meet client requirements for Final Acceptance approval.

Documentation: Accurately document field activities, maintain and archive all job-related configuration files, code, graphic touch panel layouts, and programs promptly.

Training and Mentorship: Assist in training new AV Field Engineer hires and provide system training to clients when required.
