Tim Few with Robert Half may have a great direct hire employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant wanting to join a large corporate group. Daily functions include conducting reconciliations, journal entries, maintain financial records for assigned GL, advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives, and preparing reports for management. The Senior Accounting role is a permanent employment opportunity in the Spartanburg, South Carolina. Ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience, and must be proficient in Excel, Account reconciliation, journal entries, and usage of an ERP.

Major responsibilities

• Ensure assigned areas of the General Ledger are maintained accurately.

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to ensure plans are executed properly.

• Explain and understand internal processes are maintained.

• The ideal candidate should be a highly flexible individual who is comfortable with large amounts of information and adept at managing expectations

• Utilize a large number of spreadsheets in Excel utilizing various expert level functions.

• Survey performance to date and assess potential opportunities and risks

• Play a vital role with monthly and quarterly financial close processes

• Collaborate with senior executives on strategic deep dives on creating financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, event tracking and execution, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, and strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

Requirements - General familiarity with month end closings

• Experience with General Ledger System

• Adeptness in VLOOKUP

• Ledger Reconciliations experience

• General Ledger System experience preferred

• Knowledge of bank reconciliations

• Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Financial Reporting

• Solid understanding of journal entries

• Background in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly valued (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

• Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

• BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

• Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

• Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience considered)

• Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

• Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions

• Prior experience in Spreadsheet and ERP system

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
