Mountainland Technical College On-the-Job #1 Instructor Training in Spanish Fork, Utah
ON-THE-JOB COSMETOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
Location: Spanish Fork, UT
Status: Part-time
Hours: 20-28 hours a week. Varied (2 days and 2 nights a week, 2 Saturdays a month)
Pay / Salary: $17.57/ Hour
SUMMARY
As the On-the-Job Cosmetology Instructor, you will teach students cosmetology, barbering, nail and skin care techniques, while preparing to acquire a Utah State Cosmetology Instructor’s License. You will work under the supervision of a licensed instructor until you have met the requirements to become an instructor yourself.

ON-THE-JOB INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Meet with the Program Coordinator regularly and discuss improvements and progress.
Learn how to develop program curriculum and lesson plans and how to teach engaging lessons, using hands on, skill-based competency training to the greatest extent possible.
Complete 12 chapters in Milady's Instructor Training/learning motivation, preparation, teaching methods, classroom management.
Have at least 400 hours of training and meet with the Program Coordinator to have regular evaluation for on-the-job training.
Manage and supervise students in the classroom and on the practical floor.
Maintain student-oriented approach, and desirable classroom conditions. Check equipment daily for hazards, ensuring it is maintained and properly repaired.
Maintain accurate and current reports and records regarding student accountability, attendance, and performance.
Attend all department and faculty meetings as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Take and pass the Utah Cosmetology Instructor License test
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
A High School diploma or equivalent is required
Graduation from an accredited Cosmetology School or apprenticeship
Valid Utah State Cosmetology License
Minimum 6 months of industry experience is required
