We have an exciting opportunity for a Parent Support Educator (Bilingual Spanish) to join our team of talented professionals.

As a Parent Support Educator in the Early Childhood, Intervention & Prevention program, you will be responsible for the following:

• Complete Parents as Teacher (PAT) Certification training within 6 weeks of hire. Timeframe may have to be adjusted by supervisor based on holidays and/or the National PAT training calendar. Maintain PAT certification through annual renewal process.
• Plan and complete home visits with participants according to program guidelines.
• Complete required paperwork according to program specific guidelines and timelines.
• Maintain an active Parents as Teachers caseload and minimum billable service hours as outlined by your supervisor.
• Recruit and enroll families to meet caseload and program productivity standards.
• Input case notes in Parents as Teachers database within 48 hours of service.
• Keep all home visiting clients' and group members' information confidential.
• Link families to programs and services from local resource networks.
• Advocate for the family by assuring that the clients' needs are identified and met.
• Make inquiries to obtain information needed to assess progress.
• Manage the communication and exchange of information.
• Negotiates with, and on behalf, of the client for services.
• Documents all components of the case in client's chart.
• Conduct program specific screenings and/or assessments on children and address delays identified.
• Provide necessary data to supervisor.
• Transition planning for children aging out of the program.
• Schedule and implement parent/child interaction groups for home visiting and community based clients. Complete all required documentation.
• Plan and implement Early Childhood Prevention Services.
• Provide Community Resource Center services and activities.
• Meet all program and funder requirements.
• Other job related duties as assigned.

• Complete a minimum of 25 hours of program or position specific training annually.

   

Requirements

::: {bind="html: Job.Requirements"} To qualify for this position, you will need the following:

• Minimum education requirements include one of the follow:

(1) Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, OR

(2) Associates Degree in other field with a Child Development Associate (CDA) or current certification in Parents as Teachers (PAT), OR

(3) College credit of more than 60 hours with at least 20 credit hours being in Early Childhood related coursework, or (4) College credit of more than 60 hours with a Child Development Associate (CDA) or current certification in Parents as Teachers (PAT).

Experience in the Parents as Teachers model preferred.

A minimum of two years supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.

Must possess knowledge of child development for birth to 3 years.

Must be fluent in both English and Spanish languages, with certification in Spanish preferred.
