Position: GL Accountant

Company: Robert Half client

Location: Southfield

Our client has revenues of over $200m, is non-automotive, growing, and privately owned. They are seeking a dedicated GL Accountant to join their team. As a GL Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month-end close processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.

• Enter financial data into the accounting system with precision.

• Assist in month-end close processes to meet reporting deadlines.

• Support state and local tax preparation activities.

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.

• Perform account analysis and reconciliations to identify discrepancies.

• Assist with audits and other financial reporting requirements.

• Provide support to other accounting functions and departments as needed.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Sales, Operations, and HR.

• Support budgeting activities to facilitate financial planning and analysis.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.
