Eaton Corporation Corporate Packaging Engineer - North America in Southfield, Michigan
Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Corporate Packaging Engineer. This position is Hybrid and must be located at one of the following locations: Southfield, MI, Beachwood, OH, or Moon Township, PA
The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.

What you’ll do:
This position will report into the Packaging Category Leader within the Global Procurement Organization (GPO). As part of our global supply chain, the Packaging Engineer drives the development and deployment of world class Packaging Solutions across all businesses within Eaton. In this role, you will develop ideal conditions that enhance cost, quality, on time delivery, and innovation for packaging design. Further, you will have the opportunity to investigate and employ sustainable packaging solutions to support Eaton’s initiative to be good stewards of the environment.
Job Responsibilities
Serve as key corporate contact for packaging design and function for North America region (US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Dominican Republic).
Collaborate with packaging engineers within specific businesses in North America, engineers in Europe and Asia and with a core group of packaging engineers in India.
Collaborate and evaluate packaging suppliers support for packaging within busineses.
Development of Packaging Standards assuring all packaging passes ISTA requirements while fulfilling ideal form, fit and function for the product to safely arrive at the customer.
Conduct VAVE events (value add, value engineering) at manufacturing sites and distribution centers, focusing on packaging design, packaging material flow, assess opportunities for returnable containers, and address packaging caused product damage.
Address safety by designing to eliminate packaging related injuries.
Engage with Quality and Product Line Managers for Customer Feedback on Packaging Performance taking corrective action as needed.
Collaborate across DC's and sites to implement best practices and deploy system wide improvements and standardize packaging.
Collaborate with category management to meet supply chain goals and company initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years' professional experience in a packaging engineering role within Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering or Operation required.
No relocation benefits are being offered for this position. Only candidates who currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Beachwood OH, Moon Township PA, Southfield MI will be considered.
Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
Must be willing to travel as needed within US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Dominican Republic
Preferred Qualifications
4-6 years’ Packaging Engineering Experience across multiple manufacturing product lines
Professional CPP or Equivalent Certification"
Technical knowledge
Knowledge of the Packaging engineering, best practices and key innovations. Ability to identify supply chain, technology and economical trends within the packaging category.
Demonstrates knowledge and experience in successfully testing and deploying packaging changes for design updates or new product launches.
Creative thinking skills to produce new approaches in packaging engineering and implement emerging materials and designs that enhance company goals.
