BASF’s Coatings division is a global expert in the development, production and marketing of innovative and sustainable automotive OEM and refinish coatings, decorative paints as well as applied surface treatments for metal, plastic and glass substrates in a wide range of industries. We serve customers such as GM, Ford, Tesla, BMW, Toyota, Volvo and many more!
Program Summary...
We are seeking students to contribute their knowledge and energy in working toward solutions in key areas of the division. You will be based at our North American BASF Coatings LLC Headquarters, located just outside Detroit, in Southfield, MI.
This internship will allow you to participate in various projects, giving you the opportunity to further develop both technical and professional skills. These practical and meaningful assignments will give a chance to apply what you’ve learned in school. Assignment duration will range from 10-12 weeks from May 2025 to August 2025.

Possible project areas include, but are not limited to: Chemical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Science, Digitization, IT/Data Management, and Marketing.
Candidate resumes will be reviewed with hiring teams. Matches will be based on requirements of the assignment, your major and any experience. If you are selected the hiring manager will be in contact with you about their summer employment opportunity.
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range is $16.00-$27.00 hourly. Actual pay will be determine based on education level, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Students will be hired and employed through a third-party contracting agency; opportunities are based on business needs at our sites.
