Quality Control Technician

Facilitate and lead activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of production, metrology and customer claims by performing the following duties:

• Develop and initiate standards and methods for examination, inspection, measurement and testing of material used to manufacture product.

• Support the Quality Engineer function by collecting and distributing data relevant to specified projects.

• Assure that material meets engineering specification and customer requirements.

• Provide tactical quality support to operations by Investigating, Troubleshooting and Reporting on Internal supplier and assembly issues and External customer complaints .

• Maintain records, certifications and documentation for completed inspections. Participate and/or lead problem solving events under the direction of a Quality Engineer.

• Disposition material and coordinate with purchasing on supplied material. Provide tactical quality support to operations.

• Familiar with Blueprint reading and understands basic GD T. Support additional responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Basic understanding of assembly methods.

• Must be comfortable utilizing conventional measuring equipment including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, microscopes and other types of inspection devices.

• Basic understanding of blueprints and other documents that define product specification.

• General knowledge of ISO procedures. Basic understanding of root cause analysis 5W1H, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc. .

• Must be detailed oriented and able to prioritize workload as demands change. Possess basic computer skills with experience in Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to work overtime and assist in other areas as needed.
