Element Materials Technology Shipping and Receiving Technician in South Windsor, Connecticut
Element has an opportunity for a Shipping and Receiving Technician to receive parts, log receipts in the computer, move parts to the processing areas, pack parts for shipment and ship parts while completing all required paperwork.
Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance and determine the most economical and efficient shipping method including but not limited to the selecting the appropriate shipping container and pack items to ensure safe delivery
Ability to receive, track, and distribute / stock materials, supplies, and equipment
Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment
Inspect shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damages and notify supervisor and/or purchasisg personnel
Skills / Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
General administrative methods, principals and practices
Computer experience including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Candidate must be willing to work outside for about 50% of the day, year round, regardless of weather
Overtime required at month’s end and some weekends as well
