Sr. Financial Analyst (Band 7)

The Sr Financial Analyst is a key contributor to the Genetic Testing Solution BU team. This role will assist the Sr Finance Manager supporting the GTS leadership providing financial planning, analysis, and reporting support. Key Responsibilities

Manage the GTS financials and provide key insights to the business to drive actionable opportunities for growth.

Some of the activities this position will drive are:

  • Ensure all the close and reporting activities within GTS are delivered timely and accurately

  • Support financial reporting (OPEX, CAPEX, Revenue, Backlog, Std Margin, PV2, customer analysis, etc)

  • Coordinate the Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews and related deliverables

  • Partnering with business leaders on any ad-hoc requests (e.g. revenue tracking, pricing analysis, standard margin analysis, business cases, etc)

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and finance peers to foster best practice sharing and implement continuous improvement practices across the organization

  • Support existing dashboard reporting while driving development of new dashboards and KPI tools to analyze results and enable data-driven decision making and tracking

  • Provide support on financial modeling and analytical support for new product introductions, targeted investments, and other business initiatives like licensing / M&A opportunities, and any other project related support

  • Drive continuous improvement and automation of key processes

  • Support the monthly / quarterly close and forecast process when needed

  • Support the CAPEX tracking as well as AR process when needed

  • Help drive the yearly AOP and STRAP processes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Communicates clearly and effectively with colleagues from different functions, regions, and backgrounds

  • Demonstrates sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal customers. Identifies motivating factors for each party and drive harmonization across teams

  • Ability to comprehend complex problems, identify root cause, and drive towards solution

  • Ability to summarize multi-faceted situations and build a coalition amongst stakeholders on path forward

  • Demonstrates strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills

  • Possesses initiative, enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, a positive attitude and ability to perform as a team player.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and standard accounting principles

  • Interfaces effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment with all levels of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications (must have):

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or other business related disciplines (MBA a plus)

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across the organization

  • Ability to work with management at all levels

  • Very strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Systems experience, including, but not limited to: E1, SAP, EDW, Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Financial Planning
