Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP/Caregiver)                                         

Location: 1804 South 400 East (or) 1173 South 400 East

Hours: Flexible

Pay: $17.50/hr + $850 Bonus

·         $1,200 Bonus pay-out schedule:

o   $200.00 after onboarding and initial training completed

o   $200.00 after 30 days and training completed

o   $450.00 after 6 months

We are looking for compassionate, patient, and dependable people to become Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). This job offers challenging and rewarding work! We want DSPs that can develop a rapport with individuals with disabilities to nurture safe and supportive relationships. Positivism, teamwork, and collaboration are essential!

The DSP would support and guide the individual, in a residential setting, in ways that most people would take for granted. You would assist with tasks that the individual cannot do for themselves and teach tasks that they can do for themselves. It is a great sense of accomplishment, for you and the person, when they learn to complete a new task!

You would also assist lower functioning clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as showering, bathing, toileting, or feeding. Higher functioning clients, you would teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping.

What you will do:

  • Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
  • Assist individual with activities of daily living such as showering, bathing, toileting, or feeding as needed.
  • Provide assistance and support with daily activities which include household chores, meal preparation, recreational activities, learning activities, and physical fitness activities.
  • Accompany individuals on routine errands, and provide assistance as needed in accomplishing tasks.
  • Represent the needs, wants, and interests of individuals served or supported by the program.
  • Provide input on program planning and implementation for individuals.
  • Document in accordance with policies and procedures and all pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with other staff, families, and the general public.

*What you'll need to succeed: *

•       Must have personal transportation

•       Must be 18 or older

•       Must drive and have a valid driver's license

•       Acceptable driving record based on motor vehicle record ( MVR)

•       Must be able to lift 40 lbs, push, pull, bend, kneel, stand or sit for sustained periods of time

•       Experience supporting people with disabilities is preferred but not required, we will train

•       Must speak, read and write English
