Generac Power Systems Senior Systems Architecture Engineer in South Portland, Maine

Our Clean Energy Technology team is hiring a Senior Systems Architecture Engineer. In this role you will be directly involved in contributing to the vision of next generation product architecture and technology for the Clean Energy Solutions team. This includes performing analyses and simulations that drive system architecture and technology decisions for next generation power electronics devices. In this role you will help drive what the future of the product lineup looks like, from idea conception through assisting and advising on prototype development. This role requires a broad array of skills including systems engineering, electrical engineering and controls theory.
Understanding firmware development and/or data pipeline architecture is an added bonus. This is a highly collaborative role, excellent communication and collaboration are required for success.
This role is located in our S. Portland ME office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop deep technical skills in Generac’s Clean Energy Solutions ESS products and system architecture and serve as an internal expert.
Apply engineering knowledge and experience to improve systems, products, and processes.
Support the development of product design requirements and drive system level requirements.
Drive the resolution of technical issues and escalate significant issues to engineering leadership.
Support new technology and product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs).
Conduct electrical simulations and analysis to evaluate system performance and key features.
Work from a clean slate to make cutting edge product proposals and drive key system specifications from first principles analysis.
Stay up to date with evolving industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to power electronics, electrical systems, energy generation and storage systems.
Collaborate with a diverse group of teams, including key knowledge holders in: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, modeling and simulations, firmware, software, reliability, quality and product management.
Mentor and teach less experienced engineers.

Minimal Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
4-6 years of relevant work experience
Product architecture experience in electrical or firmware engineering.
Proficient in DFMEA, test plans (DVP&R)
Depth of knowledge in a power electronics related subject, such as fabrication and assembly technologies of PCBs, strain/stress analysis, thermal management, and connector/cable engineering, source code control, regressions systems, state diagrams or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with power electronics product development.
Experience in electrical design software and simulation tools.
Power electronics system simulation experience
Experience with firmware development for power converters.
Experience driving specifications/solution for complex multi-disciplinary problems
