Job Description:

1st Shift - Full Time (Entry Level Position)

Primary Function: Receive, check-in and put away tooling, inserts and supplies. Dispense supplies, tooling, inserts, and maintain computer files to reflect current items on-hand and records of obsolete items. Update computer files, as necessary. Monitor inventory levels and alert purchasing chain when quantities are low. Work with team leaders, group leaders and employees to ensure supplies are available when needed.

Post receipts and disbursements to current inventory system. Prepare paperwork and coordinate with outside vendors. Conduct cycle counts per tool crib group leader’s direction. Assist tool grinders, as necessary, with small jobs (i.e. drills, facing tools). Routinely check satellite tool cribs for shortages and orderliness.

Receive requests for items and pick and pack items to be delivered from central tool crib. Deliver to point of use. Follow up to verify the order was completed and delivered.

Working Procedures: Carry-out routine job assignments, secure facilities and materials. Compare materials and quantities received to BOL’s. Stock inserts, tooling and supplies in proper storage locations. Update current inventory system to reflect current inventory levels. Dispense inserts, tool holders and hardware, tooling and shop supplies. Record disbursements in MS Excel spreadsheet. Post disbursements to current inventory system on a weekly basis (daily for high volume items). Prepare paperwork and coordinate with outside vendors. At a minimum, visit each satellite tool crib weekly, ensuring it is properly stocked and kept orderly. Conduct cycle count program for expendable items under guidance from tool crib group leader.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills

  • Good Organizational Skills

  • Ability to maintain work area in an orderly fashion, clean, and organized

  • Good verbal communication skills

  • Basic tool repair

Additional Information:

  • This position is located at the Caterpillar manufacturing facility located in South Milwaukee, WI

  • 1st Shift - Full Time

  • The hourly rate is Step 1 - $16.28 hr, Step 2 - $16.66 hr, Step 3 - $17.02 hr depending on experience.

  • No relocation assistance is available.
