Intermountain Healthcare Documentation Specialist in South Jordan, Utah

Job Description:

This position is responsible for performing tasks that support complete, accurate and timely collection, and entry of physician orders.

Job Essentials

  1. Accurately analyzes and enters deficiencies into software application for home medical equipment orders in accordance to State, Federal, and Joint Commission guidelines.

  2. Audits incomplete records using both paper and software application, and makes appropriate action to the incomplete record.

  3. Prepares, sends, and receives physician orders in accordance with State and Federal laws, and tracks the progress in receiving them back.

  4. Accurately and timely preps and enters patient documents into the software system.

  5. Provides excellent telephone and in-person customer service, answers and returns calls promptly and courteously, and responds to requests in an accurate and timely manner.

  6. Provides effective and clear communication in both writing and verbally to physician offices, patients, intake, and the stores regarding issues with the patient record.

  7. Coordinates HME Stores, Intake, and Physicians/Physician Offices regarding the collection of medical documents that are required to update the patient record and ensure accurate billing practices

  8. Maintains productivity levels established by management in completion of work.

  9. Provides support to department as directed by the department manager.

Additional Details:

Entry Rate: $13.96

Schedule: Monday - Friday between 7:00 am - 6:00 pm

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year of health care customer service experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate orally and in writing with attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, follow instruction and function as part of a team.
