Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to build and repair machine shop tools using machining operations and measuring instruments.

  • Able to work from blueprints, models and sketches to create, repair or modify tools, dies, jigs, gauges and molds.

  • Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications.

  • Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity and defects.

  • Able to troubleshoot manufacturing issues in order to maintain quality standards.

  • Able to accurately calculate dimensions and tolerances of tools created.

  • Responsible to assist in general housekeeping of the department.

  • Responsible to adhere to all company safety policies and procedures while also maintaining a safe work environment at all times.

  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

    Other:

  • Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules.

  • Must be able to work extended hours when required.

  • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications/Experience:

  • High school diploma and completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and tool and die experience.

  • Four (4) or more years of tool and die experience.

  • Manufacturing experience a plus.

  • CAD experience required.
