Actalent Project Engineer in South Bay, Florida

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in South Florida. The Project Engineer will report to the Project Manager and use Procore for all reporting and project administration. Responsibilities include handling Submittals, Requests for Information, Daily Reports, coordination between Subcontractors, and supporting the Project Manager. Additionally, the Project Engineer will periodically update job progress reports, Submittal Log, and 4 Week Look Ahead, assist with PM responsibilities when the Project Manager is not present on the job site, and ensure Quality Assurance and site safety. The initial project involves supporting a SFWMD Pump Station Project, with a duration of approximately 4 months, followed by long-term career opportunities on other projects.

Responsibilities

  • Use Procore for all reporting and project administration

  • Handle Submittals, Requests for Information, and Daily Reports

  • Coordinate between Subcontractors

  • Support the Project Manager

  • Periodically update job progress reports, Submittal Log, and 4 Week Look Ahead

  • Assist with PM responsibilities when the Project Manager is not present

  • Ensure Quality Assurance and site safety

  • Work on the SFWMD Pump Station Project, including repairing/rebuilding the collapsed shoring system in a 200ft canal

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or similar field

  • Experience with Procore or similar construction software

  • Knowledge of construction, civil, project engineering, project management, and construction management

  • Familiarity with OSHA 10 and 30

  • Experience with RFIs, change orders, project coordination, excavation, sheet pile, driving piles, foundation work, highway/roadway, heavy civil, and heavy construction

  • Understanding of pump stations, water control structures, levies, and canals

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Internship or other construction field experience

  • Experience with sheet pile, bracing, support of excavation, foundation work, highway/roadway, or other heavy construction

  • Spanish speaking is a plus

Work Environment

The Project Engineer will work out of a container or their vehicle, as there is no office trailer available. A tent can be provided if necessary. The workday starts at 7am, and it takes approximately 20-25 minutes to get to the jobsite from the entrance. Some overtime hours may be required, and the position may involve working every other Saturday. This is a great opportunity to work on a large Everglades restoration project.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr.
