Detailed Description:

As part of the Celestica Global Automation team, you will be the leader of a small skilled team of technicians that manufactures custom automation solutions for Celestica’s global requirements, including stand-alone cells and large robotic assembly lines. As a Team Leader, you bring experience in the manufacturing of Electrical Sub & Final assembly, ensuring that the automated equipment is built under strict safety regulation and following Celestica Global standards. You should demonstrate dexterity, technical expertise, attention to details, time management and teamwork to build world-class equipment

In this role, you will report to the Automation Production Manager.


  • Lead the electrical activities during the sub & final assembly.

  • Read and analyze engineering schematics to complete assemblies.

  • Follow design specifications and assembly procedures/guidelines.

  • Proactively assisted teammates as needed.

  • Must be capable of providing feedback on electrical design improvement from sketches or verbal concepts to the Electrical design teams.

  • Work with the Manager and supply chain team to ensure that the bills of materials are available to support the sub and final assembly activities.

  • Responsible for communicating progress on tasks to the manager.

  • Responsible to complete assembly as per of the committed schedule.

  • Liaise with Designer, fabricators, machinists, toolmakers and Mechanical assembly teams in the completion of assemblies and resolving problems.

  • Must have thorough knowledge of Mechanical assemblies

  • An understanding of the use of pneumatics.

  • Knowledge of IEC, ISO, CE, and cUL international standards

  • Ability to integrate robots, machine vision systems, servos and other devices.

  • Knowledge of PLC & fieldbuses including EtherCat

  • Prior experience with safety systems and software

  • Make sure safety guidelines are respected all the time.

Project Execution

  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Assist in improving Celestica Global Automation Procedure and tools

  • Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures

  • Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in a group meeting.

  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned

  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and or travel as required in varying timelines

  • Ensure scheduled milestones are met


• University Degree or College Diploma in Electrical Engineering


  • Minimum 7 years in Electrical Sub & Final assembly of complex automated lines.

  • Previous team leader role experience.

  • Knowledge of E-plan is a must.

  • Previous experience with building Complex Electrical enclosure.

  • Previous experience with articulate and gantry robot.

  • Previous experience with PLC & Safety System.

  • Previous experience with Vision assembly.

  • Fluent in Chinese and English

  • Travel

  • Expectation of travel to vendor/supplier locations is less than 15% of time, however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs
