DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Certified Nurse's Aide working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide compassionate care in various tasks to carry out individualized care plans for inmates housed at SCI Laurel Highlands. Your daily duties include, but are not limited to: Complete basic nursing skills and procedures to provide quality care, demonstrating your commitment to this responsibility. Complete documentation as required. Collect urine, feces, and sputum specimens as ordered. Complete or assist inmates with daily activities and hygiene to meet basic physical care needs. Follow nursing care plan orders, provide care and interventions aligned with the inmate's needs, and document all assigned aspects of the nursing care plan as part of Life Skills programming. Participate in emergencies by performing CPR for obstructed airways and joining assigned emergency response drills. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Your work hours will be determined, consisting of 8-hour shifts with rotating days off, based on available shifts at the time of hire: 1st shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM 2nd shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM 3rd shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents. Special Requirements: Positions assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility require active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry. SCI LAU is a long-term care facility.

Additional Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania is required.
